At Mountain Sprouts Academy, we serve our meals Family Style. Every child has the opportunity to serve themselves and decide what they would like to eat. While we encourage every child to try all of the foods, they have the ultimate decision about what to eat. The following articles discuss the importance of Family Style Dining:

Welcome to Mountain Sprouts Academy: Where Curiosity Grows at 9,712 Feet

Nestles in the heart of Copper Mountain, Mountain Sprouts Academy is more than a childcare center-it’s a living, breathing, community of young explorers, creative thinkers, and compassionate learners. We are proud to be a Reggio Emilia inspired program, rooted in respect for children, families, and the unique alpine environment that surrounds us.

A Place for Wonder and Discovery

At Mountain Sprouts, we believe that children are born curious, capable, and full of potential. Our approach is centered around the image of the child as strong, resourceful, and resilient. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our educators act as co-learners and collaborators, creating space for children to express themselves in one hundred languages - through art, movement, storytelling, science, construction, and play.

Our Alpine Classroom

There’s no better backdrop for learning than the natural beauty of Copper Mountain. The changing seasons, abundant wildlife, and mountain terrain offer endless opportunities for sensory exploration, scientific inquiry, and imaginative play. Whether we’re following animal tracks in the snow or observing the aspen leaves change color, nature is our ever-present teacher.

Family-Centered and Community Focused

We view families as our partners in education. Your knowledge of your child is invaluable, and we welcome your stories, insights, and participation in our daily rhythm. Together, we are creating a place where children feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and build meaningful relationships with the world around them.

Mountain Sprouts Academy also supports the vibrant community of Copper Mountain- from resort employees to local families-by providing dependable, high-quality early education in a place where it’s deeply needed.

Join Us on This Journey

Whether you’re a local family looking for nurturing care, a visitor curious about our unique model, or a supporter of early childhood education in the mountains, we invite you to follow along as we grow. Through this blog, we’ll share glimpses into our classrooms, reflections from our educators, and updates on the journey we’re building together.

Thank you for being part of it with us. Here’s to a season of wonder, growth, and connection-together on the mountain.

Together We Grow Roots

A family journey in engagement within Mountain Sprouts Academy is a collaborative and transformative experience. It starts with open communication and mutual respect between educators and families, recognizing that parents are essential partners in their children’s education.

As families embark on this journey, they are invited to participate in various activities and events that celebrate their unique perspectives, cultures, and talents. This engagement is not just about involvement in school events but also about fostering meaningful connections and relationships.

Through ongoing dialogue and shared experiences, families become active participants in shaping the learning environment. They contribute ideas, insights, and resources that enrich the educational journey of all children within our preschool community.

This journey is characterized by a sense of belonging and shared responsibility for each child’s growth and development. Families are encouraged to collaborate with educators, exchange knowledge, and co-create learning opportunities that align with the Reggio Emilia principles of respect, collaboration, and inquiry-based learning.

Ultimately, the family journey in engagement at Mountain Sprouts Academy nurtures a sense of community, belonging, and shared ownership of the learning process, creating a supportive and enriching environment for children to thrive.
