Ms. Courtney, Director
I have a bachelor’s degree in Child Development/Family Relations from the University of Maine and a MA in Early Childhood Education from CU Denver. I have 35 years of experience working with children infants to five years old. I grew up in Massachusetts and have been in Summit County for 30 years. My husband and I have three grown children and we spend our spare time skiing, hiking, and being together as a family. Working with young children brings immense joy and fulfillment to my life. Witnessing the growth and development of these young minds is a truly rewarding experience. Every day is a new adventure.

Ms. Deanna, Assistant Director
I have a bachelors in Elementary Education with a specialization in early childhood and I am Nationally Board Certified. I have thirty-four years of experience teaching kindergarten, first and second grades. I truly love working with children and I approach each child as an individual who I help to connect to the world around them. I value the human spirit and the development of the whole child – physical, social, emotional and cognitive. In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, mountain biking and paddle boarding. I look forward to meeting your family and to share the joy of learning.

Ms. Lizz, Education Coordinator
I am so excited to start the adventure at Mountain Sprouts. I grew up in Washington state and received my BA from Western Washington University in Literature. I moved to Colorado in 2002 with my family and started to work in Early Childhood Education in 2006. I attained my MA in Early Childhood Education at CU Denver in May 2023. I love to read, cook/bake, snowboard and hike with my (now) grown up daughters and husband. Watching children learn and grow is the best part of my life.

Ms. Chrissy, Room 1, Infants
Ms. Chrissy has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and has experience working with children of all ages in several different settings. Back in 2019 Ms. Chrissy was an assistant teacher at a Montessori school in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she worked with students in the First through Third grade age range. Most recently she was working with students from ages four to 13 in a behavioral management setting. The goal of this work was to help each child learn how to regulate their emotions, work with others, and express themselves in a healthy manner. Ms. Chrissy is so excited to work with your children at Mountain Sprouts Academy.

Ms. Alyssa, Room 2, Toddlers
Ms. Alyssa was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. Her mother owns a home child care center and that is where her experience and love for working with children started. Since then Ms. Alyssa has worked with children ages newborn - 18 years and children who have special needs. When Ms. Alyssa isn’t working, she spends her time hiking, camping, e-biking, and baking.

Ms. Anne Dalton, Room 2, Toddlers
Ms. Anne Dalton was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from Longwood University with a degree in Social Work. Throughout her life she has worked in childcare centers and is passionate about fostering creativity and the learning in and out of the classroom. Ms. Anne Dalton enjoys reading, baking, and hiking.

Ms. Lydia, Room 3, Preschool
Ms. Lydia grew up in Lee, New Hampshire, and has worked with children from newborns to 18-year-olds in a variety of settings, including camps, schools, homes, and daycares. With a strong background in special education, she is passionate about supporting each child’s unique learning journey. Ms. Lydia believes in the power of the environment as a teacher and enjoys helping children learn through exploration and play. Outside of work, she loves hiking, skiing, swimming, reading, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Mr. Caleb, Room 3, Preschool
Mr. Caleb is a recent graduate from upstate New York. He received his bachelor’s in psychology from SUNY Geneseo where he served as captain of the track and field team and won 7 conference championships. He has 5 years of experience as a substitute teacher and has worked at a summer camp in Maine for 3 summers. When he’s not in the classroom he spends his time snowboarding, fishing, hiking, and cycling.

Ms. Abby, Room 4, Preschool
Ms. Abby grew up in Leadville and graduated from Adams State University with her BA in Elementary Education. She has been working in Early Childhood Education for the last four years and coaching the Lake County Middle School Cross Country Team each fall. Ms. Abby enjoys skiing, hiking, and being outside.

Ms. Mae, Room 4, Preschool
Ms. Mae was born in New Hampshire and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She has a Bachelor's of Science from The Ohio State University in World Politics and Anthropology. She has experience with students of all ages working in elementary schools, outdoor education, and summer camp programs. While Ms. Mae just moved from Montana, she is excited to explore Colorado through skiing, biking, and backpacking.

Ms. Morgan, Cook
Ms. Morgan is a part time cook and full time ski bum. She is a member of the Ski Patrol at Ski Cooper in the winter and is pursuing her EMT certification to work in Emergency Medicine full time. She likes to ski, bike, run, and read. She grew up in Leadville and loves the outdoors around the community.

Ms. Rosie, Support Staff
Rosie is a born and raised Copper Mountain Local. She studied Early Childhood Education at Colorado Mountain College and is continuing her education at Montana State. She started her childcare career at Summit School of Dance teaching kinder ballet, and is passionate about continuing forward in this career path.
